How are you different from other agencies?

Comfortable at Home Senior Care is owned and operated by a licensed physical therapist. The education and experience of a physical therapist is especially helpful for loved ones returning from the hospital or rehab or who have medical conditions that require specific knowledge. Our company is also independently owned and operated, not controlled by a franchiser. Since we do not have to pay royalty fees to a franchiser, we can keep our rates affordable and competitive.

Can’t I just find and hire a private caregiver myself?

Yes, you can. However, this creates certain responsibilities, liabilities, and risks for you. In order to protect yourself, you should complete a criminal background check and verify driving records. You also should obtain insurance for general liability, bonding, and workers comp. Further, you would have to pay the required federal, state and local taxes for your caregiver since he or she is considered your employee. A home care agency such as Comfortable at Home Senior Care does all these things for you.

How quickly can your services begin?

A free, in-home assessment will be scheduled within 24 hours of your call to our office – or at your earliest convenience – and will be conducted by a licensed physical therapist so that we can tailor a program to meet your needs. Services will start as soon as you want them to.

Do you also provide services outside of the senior’s home, such as in independent living or assisted living facilities?

Yes, we do. Our caregivers can also provide elder care and companionship to seniors who may require additional attention and/or personalized long-term care while they are residing in independent living or assisted living facilities.

Do you work with hospitals?

Yes, we often follow patients home after discharge and communicate with doctors and our clients to ensure proper discharge instructions are followed.

What happens if my caregiver gets sick?

We always have multiple caregivers on stand-by who can help out if your regular caregiver is unavailable on any given day (sick, planned vacation, family emergency). We will make every effort to find another team member to meet your specific home care needs.

How does a caregiver get matched with a client?

We make every effort to pair each client with the perfect caregiver, matching every elder with a true friend who will ensure that he or she maintains not only an active lifestyle but also dignity and a sense of relevance. If you are unhappy with your caregiver, we will work with you to find the perfect fit.

What are your rates and minimum hours of service?

Our rates vary pending the type and amount of care required. We have no minimum hour requirements and our rates are $20-25/hour.  Please contact us for rate information for your specific needs.

How do you work with clients’ family members?

We work closely with our client’s family members. Our caregivers provide detailed reports after each visit, and family members can access this through our online client portal. Our caregivers are in regular contact with family members, not just to address issues as they arise but also to keep them informed of all the interesting happenings. We take care of everything so that the time you do spend with your loved one is simply about enjoying their company.

Do you provide transportation services?

We are not a transportation service, but a lot of our visits often involve accompanying clients to where they need to go. That could be a medical appointment, a lunch, a shopping outing, or anything else that might require travel. Additional mileage costs may be incurred for this service.
